Secrecy or Transparency?
I have been thinking lately a lot about transparency of our business, marketing and technical development in Floobs. I would like to communicate much more with our users, partners and other stakeholder about our product road map, business development and scrum process. This morning I ran into interesting conversation between two blogs Read Write Web and Freshbook. Freshbook is trying to keep everything for them selves before the release while Read Write Web embraces the openness. Here is what we are currently doing to improve the transparency of Floobs.
In my blog I try to show our users and customers how we are constantly improving our software development process to create new better features for them faster. I will give them preview about upcoming features and development of our software process.
We also have our System Administrator Jani Luostarinen blogging about the server side development in rollin´sysadm. I think that this helps us to connect more with other people working with these open source tools. It is also message to our users and customers that we are really working hard to meet their growing needs on scalability.
I am sure that other folks in Floobs will follow and setup blogs here. We have lots of interesting stuff going on in Spain and Finland. Other regions following.
We have new site coming up in few weeks and on the site we are using getsatisfaction to improve conversation between our team and users. Interacting with our users has been one of area were we can improve a lot.
We are constantly measuring and developing our software process but we have not had a proper design process. This is something we are working on in the near future. We are looking our SCRUM based software process from the design perspective and try to make it better. I will blog more about this later and point out how it increases the transparency of Floobs.
